EXPLORE THE AREA
This area of Texas is the "Badlands" or sometimes called "No Man's Land".  It is rich in history and colorful characters.

We have large R V travel trailers and 5th wheels for rent. These can be rented for a weekend or by the month.  These are very large and have all the comforts of home with central air and carpet.  All utilities are included in the rental.  We also have smaller travel trailers that can sleep 4 to 6 guests by using the table area and fold down sofa.  All R V's and travel trailers are located in the third bank because of the possibility of a river rise during a hard rain upstream.

SNOWBIRDS AND SHORT TERM GUESTS
WELCOME!
Come on down to south Texas and stay awhile. Our lots are large with lots of trees.  Pick out your favorite one and park for a while. We are 7 miles East of Carrizo Springs so it is just a short drive to civilization. If you need a long term stay, we have 2 and 3 bedroom mobile homes for rent. These are large, top of the line homes with 2 baths, carpeted, central air and ceiling fans.  The stove and refrigerator is furnished. Some have furniture.  You are responsible for electricity unless other arangements have been made.

HUNTERS
There is no hunting allowed in the park, but we welcome hunters to stay with us and rest up after a hard day of hunting on your lease.  Enjoy the evenings with the peace and quiet. There are "cabin" travel trailers available for rent or bring your own and park it in the campground.
We do prosecute hunting violations!

"Gaming Violations Cost Man Hunting Privileges, Money and Gun
On March 5, 2011, Dimmit Co. Game Warden Gene Fernandez wrapped up a case on a tip that began just six days prior.
The case involved an out of state oil field worker that shot a 9-point buck back in January at an RV Park on the Nueces River.  The subjct not only shot the buck at night and with a light without landowner consent, but used a .17 caliber HMR Rim Fire Rifle, no valid Texas Hunting license, and tagged it with a tag that he "got from a friend".
After speaking with several individuals that actually witnessed the deer just after being shot, Warden Fernandez received a phone call from another individual stating that he knew where the head had been taken to a taxidermist's shop in Louisiana, but that one of the subject's family members was going to pick it up and attempt to destroy it.
Warden Fernandez was able to contact a Louisiana Fish and Game Agent and get the head and cape secured in their possission to be turned over to him.  That same day, Warden Fernandez received a call from the violator himself stating that he was on his way down from North Texas to meet with Fernandez.
With the help from a US Fish and Wildlife Agent out of Laredo, the subject was interviewed, gave a full confession and was ready to turn himself in.
Warden Fernandez and the Dimmit County Attorney filed 2 Class A misdemeanors; Hunting at Hight and Hunting with a Light and 2 Class C charges of Hunting without a Valid License and Illegal Means and Methods.  The case was also referred over to US Fish and Wildlife out of Laredo for a possible Felony Lacey Act Violation.
The violator was tried in county court on March 17th and pled guilty to both Class A Misdemeanors as well as both Class C Misdemeanors in JP court, had his Marlin .17 caliber HMR scoped rifle forfeited to the State as well as having his hunting license denied for the next 5 years in Texas and the rest of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Campact States and is awaiting Civil Restitution charges on a Buck that scored 132 5/6. The violator will end up paying close to $10,000 in all."

Several years ago Mike Bradshaw, our beloved Game Warden,  brought us a skinny, little, female orphan fawn and wanted us to bottle feed it to turn lose.  She thrived with lots of love and attention and raised a fawn each year. This little buck was the last fawn that Bam Bam raised before she died of old age. She was so proud of her babies and would bring them into the yard for us to admire while she would get an ear rub and special feed.
This buck trusted people and would stand for photos to be taken but never wanted to be touched. He was our herd sire and would have produced a lot of good blooded babies in his lifetime.
His life was cut short by a worthless, kid, Preston "P. J." Dentas, from Reeves, Louisiana,  who doesn't appreciate the gifts that God has given us in the form of wildlife. We are so sorry that he only had to pay the $10,000 in fines and night in jail. He should have had some, or lots, of prison time plus at least $20,000 for killing someone's pet deer. This was the State of Texas vs. Preston Dentas, case #1142,Dimmit County, Carrizo Springs, Texas.

Bermuda Lake on the Nueces River - is a private park strictly maintained for our residents and invited guests. It is a quiet place to relax and get away from it all!
